With stories full of wisdom and timeless lessons this is an essential course to gain a deeper understanding of why Allah repeats their stories so often in the Quran as a reminder to us all.
Course Content
What is the Tafsir Module?
The Lives of the Prophets course explores the lives, missions, and legacies of the prophets mentioned in the Qur'an, from Adam (alayhis-salam) to Muhammad ﷺ. Drawing from the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah, students will study the key events, challenges and lessons from the lives of the prophets, gaining a deeper understanding of their role in conveying Allah's message to humanity.
The course highlights the wisdom behind the trials faced by the prophets and the exemplary character they displayed in calling their communities to Allah. Through their stories, participants will strengthen their understanding of Islamic history, appreciate the continuity of divine guidance, and draw practical lessons to enrich their faith and daily lives.
Parents can use the content of the course to provide inspirational story time for children and shape their minds and character from a young age.
You’ll also be introduced the principles and methodology of tafsir, enabling students to understand how scholars interpret the Quran while appreciating the richness of the Islamic scholarly tradition.
Whether you are beginning your journey or seeking to strengthen your existing knowledge, this course provides a structured, engaging and accessible approach to studying the Quran.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Explore the life of Adam (alayhis-salam), including his creation, the events of Paradise, his repentance, and the lessons surrounding human responsibility and Allah’s mercy.
- Study the lives of Nuḥ, Hud, Saliḥ, and Shuayb (alayhim-assalam), examining their calls to tawḥīd, their struggles with rejection, and the lessons of patience, perseverance, and standing firm upon truth.
- Examine the life of Ibrahim (alayhis-salam), including his search for truth, rejection of idol worship, his curiosity as a youth and his role as a model of faith and submission to Allah.
- Analyse the lives of Yusuf, Yaqub, and Ayyub (alayhis-salam), focusing on themes of patience, forgiveness, reliance upon Allah and maintaining faith through hardship.
- Study the lives of Musa and Harun (alayhis-salam), including their mission to Firawn, the challenges faced in guiding Bani Isra’il and lessons in leadership, courage and obedience to Allah.
- Explore the life and mission of Isa (alayhis-salam), including his rejection of polytheism, his miracles, the truth of his teachings and how their differ from what modern Christianity teaches.

FAQs
Is this a full course?
This lesson is offered as a stand-alone module as part of the Sanatayn course and is part of a larger course.
Do I have to commit to from the beginning?
Not at all. Come for the two weeks trial first. After that, commit to one year. Then take each year at a time. The beauty of studying Islam is that even if you don’t complete the whole course, you will still take back a wealth of information you can apply to your life and pass on to others.
Do I have to sit exams?
You’ll be pleased to know there are no exams for this Tafsir module.
Can I keep my child with me in class?
Yes, MMTQ is a child-friendly madrasah and we support mothers who want to study with babies or young children. We close during school holidays and classes are always arranged at a time when children are at school. If you need to bring your children into class, they are always welcome.
Is there any homework for this class?
There is no additional learning or memorising for this course. You can read through your own notes to review them yourself if you wish.
What happens in the school holidays?
For the ease of our students, our holidays coincide with all the school holidays so you needn’t worry about caching up or finding childcare.
Enrolment and Fees
Enrolment is easy and simplified for the benefit of the students. To start studying the Lives of the Prophet Course:
- Register your interest by texting 07306 627 786 with full name stating that you’re registering for the 2-week trial.
- Come along to the Open day on Wednesday 30th September 2026. We will talk to you about the class and answer all your questions.
- Then for the next 2 weeks, attend the classes and try them out so you get a feel of them.
- After 2 weeks, if you wish to enrol, then fill in an application form and start your first year of study.
- Enrolment for each year is separate so at this stage, students only need to commit to one year of study.
Fees for the Lives of the Prophets Module is just £180 per annum, or £150 with early bird discount. Fees can be paid in 10 monthly instalments of £18 throughout the year.
