Charity Projects
In addition to the academic courses run at MMTQ, we also have a number of projects for the services of needy Muslim brothers and sisters around the globe. The recipients of these projects are carefully selected and are those who do not receive funding or donations from other organisations. All charitable expenditures are monitored and selectively distributed to ensure zakah, sadqah and interest funds are spent appropriately. Below are some of the projects we run. Please take the time to browse through them and donate generously in order to continue these beneficial undertakings.
ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES
“Are those who have knowledge and those who have no knowledge alike? Only the men of understanding are mindful.”
(Quran, 39:9)
During a visit to the deprived area of Calcutta, India in 2003, we were approached by a respected scholar of the region who requested our assistance in funding 40 small madrasah establishments, catering for the Islamic educational needs of over 40000 children. The madaaris at that point were subsidised by one generous individual who made an annual donation to cover the madaaris overheads. As the sponsor was no longer in a financial position to support the project, the madaaris were on the verge of closing down unless funding could be found. MMTQ undertook this virtuous duty in order to safeguard the Islamic future of the children in that locality. Thereafter, in recent years, the number of makaatib has increased to 50. The cost of running one madrasah is currently at £240 a year. Your contributions to this cause are sought in order to continue this noble cause.
